The actual result is that I still keep my old way of thinking, but have Peter's perspective on the same problem or similar situation. I have two ways of thinking instead of just one. Having a different way of analyzing the problem is invaluable. Nowadays I often ask myself: "How would Peter Lynch do this? Or Donald Trump, Warren Buffett, George Soros, how will they handle it?"

The only way to penetrate their enormous mental capacity is to humbly take the trouble to read or listen to what they have to say. Arrogant or critical people often have low self-esteem and are afraid of taking risks. You see, when learning something new, you need to make mistakes in order to fully understand what you are learning.

If you have read this far, perhaps arrogance is no longer an issue for you. Arrogant people rarely read books or buy tapes. Why should I buy it? They are the center of the universe.

Many "smart" people often argue or get defensive when another opinion conflicts with their way of thinking. In that case, so-called intelligence, combined with arrogance, will produce "ignorance." We all believe that highly educated people are wise, but their balance sheets often paint a different picture. A truly intelligent person always welcomes new ideas, because they can add to the mix of accumulated ideas. Listening is more important than talking. If that were not true, God would not have given us two ears and only one mouth. Too many people think with their mouths, instead of listening to absorb new ideas and perspectives. They argued without asking any questions.

I don't have the "Get rich quick" mentality that is common among most lottery players or casino gamblers. Maybe I had capital and then ran out of capital, but I got a significant training. If you want to fly a plane, I recommend you go to school first. I'm always amazed by people who buy stocks or real estate and never invest in their greatest asset - their brain. Just buying a house or two won't turn you into a real estate expert.
