When Rowan and Maeve activate a stabilization test beneath the Briar Hollow Museum of the Unseen, they expect minor distortions-brief gravitational anomalies they can contain. Instead, they rupture something vast.

Gravity turns hostile.

Cars slide without moving. Blood grows heavy in veins. The sky bends concave over town as localized "gravity pockets" form block by block. Compasses spin uselessly. Federal agencies call it geomagnetic disruption. The townspeople call it the end.

When Sheriff Nolan becomes a living conduit for antlered, bone-white geometry, Rowan and Maeve are forced to shatter the structure anchoring the fracture-knowing it may kill him and condemn the town anyway.
