UNWANTED I am Lorrie, and I am a Foster Child

This Is Not A Sad Story. It's a story about the effects of rejection and brokenness experienced by an abused child. And this child's desire to conquer these feelings while maneuvering through flawed society, government, and religious systems. It's reenactments of events during childhood abuse, followed by assessments of the events by the same person, as a healed adult.

Will I ever be on the receiving end of care, protection, and love? Or is it only a dream for me but a reality for others? Can this hole in my heart, this place of emptiness, and longing within, ever become repaired? What will fill it and how will I recognize its validity? These were the questions asked by teenage Lorrie.

And then she had an unforgettable encounter. Consumed by a caring, protective, and loving aura that filled her space, beckoned her to follow it, and required her trust. She struggled with thinking about how this could be. How am I to love a spirit that I can't see when I can't trust the people that I can see? As the pains of life travailed, her heart thirsted for so much more than she ever experienced. Eventually reaching rock bottom in this life, only to discover a new life began.
