Forgiveness allows open wounds to heal well, the scar that remains is the reminder, the memory of the event. Without forgiveness, the wound remains open, in many individuals, for a lifetime. That open wound hurts, it fills over time with filth, with stench. It infects and affects the rest of our decisions.

The lack of forgiveness is like the chains that keep humans tied to the wall of pain. Forgiveness frees us from that wall. And although we have marks on our wrists and ankles from those chains, they are just that, marks, memories, evidence that one day you were a prisoner and today we fly free.
