Beschreibung
This book was written with the main purpose of describing the many real and potential applications of porphyrinoids, the two most important of which are those which can be used in industrial processes and those brought to the market for medical use.
The properties of porphyrins and related tetrapyrroles have been described, limited admittedly, since antiquity. Hemes and chlorophyll derivatives have been used as dyes and pigments. Porphyrinoids dyes are authorized for use in the food industry.
The contributions in this book are organized around five key themes, Health, Environment, Biomimetic Catalysts, Renewable Energy and Innovative Materials, which will bring together the current applications of porphyrinoids for many users.
