BASIC TENETS OF RELATIVISTIC ASTROPHYSICS AND COSMOLOGY

This book deals with aspects of Astrophysics, that are currently in vogue-dealing with compact objects, their energetics and some brief cosmology. In the context of energetics, it is very important to deal with aspects related to electromagnetic and plasma aspects on a curved background (general relativistic) and thus a full treatment of electromagnetics on curved spacetime is dealt with. Considering the plasma and magnetohydrodynamical features in the context of accretion physics few examples of charged particle motion in curved spacetime endowed with magnetic fields are studied, Also in the context of disk accretion few examples of disks with and without magnetic fields are also treated For those wanting to go in for research in the field of relativistic astrophysics the treatments given could serve as examples to follow.
