Insights Into History and Culture

This book is a collection of articles that were published in the regional English dailies of Assam from time to time. The author being a Post Graduate in History with specialization in Medieval Indian History has focused his attention on the subjects of history and culture. A whole range of subjects covering from Sufi and Bhakti movements, positive developments within the Islamic world, curbing rising jihadi terrorism, about the wrong depiction of medieval Indian history in media or school texts and contributions made by the British historians during colonial period ,subjects of communalism and secularism are covered in the book. Various aspects of Assam history and literary renaissance, cultural efflorescence, conservation of the archeological and historical heritage are given special coverage.
