Is it Time to rethink Project Management?

This transformation process presents project managers with the challenge of realigning strategies and adapting project management to the changed circumstances. This essay is mainly concerned with examining the current role of project management in today’s business environment. The assignment consists of two sections. A theoretical foundation is first laid regarding the definition of a project and its management to answer the research question. The second and major part outlines the importance of including aspects such as digitalization, sustainability, and agility into project management to meet the changing demands of humanity. A conclusion and a brief look into the future conclude the work. A detailed comparison between the role of project management in recent years and today is beyond the scope of this essay and, thus, cannot be covered in this paper.
