Forschungsarbeit aus dem Jahr 2024 im Fachbereich Geowissenschaften / Geographie - Allgemeines, Grundlagen, Note: bestanden, Alpen-Adria-Universität Klagenfurt (Bibliothek), Veranstaltung: Arbeitskreis, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die Galapagosechsen (auch Meerechsen, lat.: Amblyrhynchus) wurden nicht nur vom englischen Naturforscher Charles Darwin (1809-1882) das erste Mal ausführlich in seinem Reisebericht ("The Voyage of the HMS Beagle") beschrieben, sondern darüber hinaus wurde die heute noch gültige zoologische Klassifikation der Tiere erstellt und 1843 (im Buch: The zoology of the voyage of HMS Beagle) von Thomas Bell und Charles Darwin der Öffentlichkeit vorgestellt. The Galapagos marine iguana (Latin: Amblyrhynchus) was not only described in detail for the first time by the English naturalist Charles Darwin (1809-1882) in his diary of the journey, but in addition, the zoological classification of animals, which is still valid today, was created and presented to the public in 1843 (in the book The zoology of the voyage of HMS Beagle) by Thomas Bell and Charles Darwin.
