Beschreibung

Poet Cathy Xinman presents her stellar documentary poems on a range of topics. She has breathtaking insights into writing. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in pursuing their passion for poetry or essay writing. Her poems are firmly grounded in her continuous perception, unbridled empathy, evocative language, and an uncanny ability to embrace universal themes. Her poetry is a gift to the world-savour what she offers, for it is truly a literary banquet.

Solitude of All Things brings together documentary poems, prose, and reflections on writing in three sections, forming a sustained gaze upon the world-a cross-genre literary work. At its core, solitude is not isolation but a space for expanding thought, where individual experience enters language and draws close to all things, reconfiguring the place of the spirit.

This is not a book meant to explain myself.

Most of these texts arise from real experience. What concerns me more is how a person encounters the world, how feelings find their place, and how solitude becomes a universal condition rather than merely an emotion.

I hope that Solitude of All Things maintains a conscious awareness of writing itself: reflecting on poetry within poetic expression, while keeping language open within the reality of nonfiction. I prefer to let the words remain restrained, allowing experience to retain what has not been fully spoken. If readers, within these pages, enter a world that is not noisy yet continues to speak, then perhaps the meaning of writing is being formed there.
